About SMusicLab

SMusicLab is a music studio in Amsterdam — a real place, with gear, instruments, and decent soundproofing. It started as a personal space for making music and grew into something a little more interesting: a meeting point for musicians from different countries, backgrounds, and genres.

How It Works

People come to Amsterdam — to visit, to walk the city, to hang out. Some of them are musicians. They bring instruments, ideas, and energy. We play together, experiment, and sometimes something clicks — a sound, a mood, a direction that feels genuinely alive.

When that happens, we take that inspiration further. We develop the sound, shape it into something focused — mostly using AI music tools like Suno, sometimes through digital production — and turn it into a dedicated Spotify artist with its own identity, catalog, and presence.

Each artist here was born from a real session. Real people, real instruments, real energy — then synthesized and shaped into something that can travel far beyond this room.

Why "SMusicLab"?

S is for Simagin. S is for Sound. S is for Studio. But honestly — say it out loud. SMusicLab. What you actually hear is Smoothie Club. And that feels about right. A relaxed place, good vibes, something warm and carefully blended. That's the music we make here too.

The "Lab" part is serious though. No one knows what will come out of a session before it starts. Different people, different instruments, different nights — you set up the experiment and see what happens.

A Story: How It Happens

The First One. A Rainy Night and a Nylon Guitar.

It started quietly. Late at night, not to wake anyone up, I was playing my classical guitar by the window — nylon strings, high tension, muted sound, a lot of harmonics. Rain outside. Then a friend woke up anyway, picked up something nearby, and added a soft, muted chill rhythm. We recorded it right there. That same night we turned it into a Suno persona.
That was autumn 2025. Our first artist was born. We can still hear that evening in the music — and the number of people listening keeps growing.

Who Is Behind This

I'm Alex — a producer based in Amsterdam. I'm not a label executive or a music industry professional. I'm someone who loves music deeply, loves when interesting people walk through the door, and loves what happens when different sounds meet in one room.

Some of our artists are developed together with the musicians who inspired them. Others I develop on my own. Either way, every project carries something real — a piece of someone's musical personality, captured and given a life of its own on Spotify.
